Mark Duffy
Mark Duffy is a Dublin-born songwriter, guitarist, and performer with over 20 years of experience honing his craft. From busking the streets of Ireland and France to session work with established musicians, he has always sought out collaboration across backgrounds and styles.
After years of working on projects with various artists, Mark steps forward as a band leader with a sound entirely his own. Rock and roll and blues built on a foundation of jamming and improvisation. Raw and powerful, with soulful guitar work that commands a room, his live performances carry an energy that is impossible to replicate.
This is music stripped of its armor. It lives in the tension of a high note, the grain of the wood, and the lightning-bolt energy of a moment that will never happen the same way twice. It is controlled chaos, a total and fearless surrender to the song.
To write his latest project, Mark relocated to Co. Kerry on the west coast of Ireland, trading the noise of Dublin city for the stillness of the mountains and the rhythmic pull of the Atlantic. Sea swimming and rugged trail running became part of the creative process. Rather than chasing modern trends, the music draws from deep roots in old-world folklore, capturing the isolation of the Irish coast in a sound that feels both hauntingly timeless and viscerally present.
With the songs written, Mark returned to Dublin to record at Audioland Studios with producer Anthony Gibney. He enlisted drummer Dave Hingerty (The Frames, Kila) and bass player Brian Hogan (Kila, Preacher's Son), alongside gospel singers Wendie Rubee Rose, Janet Ramus, and TJ Cole (The Bad Seeds) on the debut single " I Will Be With You Always," coming soon.
